Blome
International offers a wide range of products designed to meet the challenges of
the Metal and Mining Industry.
Production of
copper consists of extracting ore from an open pit mine. This is
followed by crushing, curing on conveyor belts, heap leaching,
solvent extraction, and electro-winning. When the process is
complete, the final product is high-purity copper.
Corrosion and
acid attack of steel and concrete structures and infrastructures is
a major concern due to the large quantities of sulfuric acid used in
the production process. Electro-winning is especially corrosive due
to acid vapors coming off the electro-winning cells and the frequent
splash and spill of acid solution during harvesting of the copper
cathodes.

STRUCTURAL STEEL EXPOSED TO
ACID VAPOR
100% Solids
Epoxy and Novolac Epoxies are very effective at protecting
structural steel. From the conveyors to the electrowinning building,
our products provide proven and reliable protection. Blome TL-91
Novolac and TL-40S Epoxy Coatings are acid resistant and exhibit
excellent edge build and zero shrinkage.

CONCRETE STRUCTURES
Tank
House basement floors are another challenging area for the
industry. They must be acid, wear, and crack resistant. Blome
offers flooring systems designed to meet these requirements and
more. We also attend to such critical items as expansion joints,
isolation joints, trenches, and sumps.
Columns and
beams located in the Tank House Basement must be protected from acid
attack. Products used for this purpose must be applicable to the
vertical surfaces. Blome also offers concrete restoration materials
compatible with our coatings and linings.
Open expansion
joints are direct pathways into subsoil, which can result in slab
heaving. Because of this, every attempt must be made to insure
complete protection.
Blome
International has many years of experience providing corrosion
control and chemical containment solutions to the Metals and Mining
Industry. |
